David Derain

David heads up Hay Group’s “building effective organizations” practice. He works with organizations to help them fully realize their growth strategy through timely and effective implementation of business transformation programs. David joined Hay Group in 1994, where his career has also encompassed developing a global pharmaceutical practice. Recent client experience includes re-energizing the innovation pipeline for a global life sciences company and leading the transformational merger of two oil and gas organizations. Prior to joining Hay Group, David worked in engineering and business development in the aerospace and FMCG industries in the United States, Europe and Eastern Europe. David holds a double Master's degree in Engineering and Business Administration from the French Grandes Ecoles de Paris. Mr Derain joined Hay Group in 1994 and his career includes a variety of roles, such as developing the global pharmaceutical practice. He also has extensive experience in M&A risk management and integration, strategy implementation and effective organization design. Prior to joining Hay Group, Mr Derain worked in engineering and business development in the aerospace industry and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in the United States, Europe and Eastern Europe.
